Public Notice
This serves as public notice that the following item will appear as the first item of business on the Elizabethton Board of Education Meeting Agenda scheduled for May 17, 2012 at 6:30 pm in the T. A. Dugger Media Center, 306 West E Street, Elizabethton, Tennessee:
Approve contract of employment between Edwin C. Alexander III and Elizabethton City Board of Education from 09/12/12 to 09/11/13.
On April 19, 2012, the Elizabethton City Board of Education met and approved a one (1) year contract with Edwin C. Alexander III for the position of Superintendent of Schools. TCA ยง 49-2-203 (a)(14)(C) states, ...no school board shall extend the contract of a director of schools without giving notice of the intent to do so at least fifteen (15) calendar days prior to the scheduled meeting at which action shall be taken. Despite delivery fifteen days prior to the April meeting to the usual media used by the Board for public notice, it is uncertain whether the notice was actually published fifteen days prior to the meeting; therefore, this item will again appear on the agenda for the next regularly-scheduled Board meeting on May 17, 2012.
