Teacher Assistant Applicants:
Persons interested in applying for positions as teacher assistants must be highly qualified to be considered for employment (as mandated in NCLB). All applicants must have a minimum 2-year degree or must have passed the Praxis (Para-pro) test to be considered for a teacher assistant position.
Certified Teacher Applicants:
Persons interested in applying for teaching positions must be highly qualified to be considered for a position (where a highly qualified teacher is required). This is a federal requirement under NCLB. Should you have a question regarding eligibility, please refer to the position posting to determine whether a highly qualified teacher is required.
By completing an application for employment with Elizabethton City Schools, applicants must certify that all information provided in the application is complete and correct to the best of their knowledge. They shall further agree that if any information or answers given herein change, either before or after employment, it shall be his/her responsibility to notify the Office of the Director of Schools in writing immediately. Individuals offered employment shall authorize the Director of Schools/designee to conduct background and reference checks including history searches and finger-printing verifications pursuant to TCA 49-5-513(A). Employment (for any position) shall be conditional (upon successful processing of fingerprints and the receipt of clear criminal history and background check).
Notice: A notice of interest form MUST be completed and returned to the Human Resources Department prior to Elizabethton City Schools considering any applicant for a position.
