T.A. Dugger takes wins over Chuckey-Doak

The T.A. Dugger boys and girls’ varsity teams swept a pair of varsity wins in basketball action against the Jr. Black Knights of Chuckey-Doak.

The Jr. Lady Cyclones never trailed in the contest leading from the opening tip to the final horn in taking a 49-23 win.

There were ten players that scored in a balanced attack led by Lina Lyons who burnt the nets down with 18 points in the contest.

Mac Depew, Olivia Holly, and Renna Lane chipped in with 5 points apiece while Abbie Crigger and Mailey Guy added 4 points each.

A quartet of players recorded two points in the game including Maddie Fowler, Katie Lee, Kayelyn Nave, and Reiley Whitson.

In a tighter contest, the Jr. Cyclone varsity boys managed to slip past the Black Knights, 49-42, to make it a clean sweep for the varsity teams.

Three Jr. Cyclones reached double figures in scoring for the contest led by Dalton Mitchell who recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Nate Stephens was on Mitchell’s heels with 14 points and just missed his own double-double pulling down 9 boards.

Cade Russell added 10 points on then night while cleaning the glass for 5 rebounds.

Peyton Johnson (4), Carter Davison (2), Luke Whaley (2), and Bradley Cannon (2) contributed points to the winning cause as well.
