Coach Presnell is an Elizabethton native and 1998 graduate of EHS. He is also a member of the EHS Athletics Hall of Fame for both baseball and football. Coach Presnell played college football and baseball at Furman University, where he graduated with a double major in political science and history. Following his graduation from Furman, he went to ETSU and received his master’s degree in criminal justice. Following that, he enlisted in the US Army and later worked as a Special Agent with the FBI. He teaches Criminal Justice at Elizabethton High School and helped create the regional CSI Competition that takes place between northeast Tennessee high schools each year.
Coach Presnell has been the head coach at EHS for 3 seasons now. During that time, EHS has won two Three Rivers Conference titles and made one trip to the 2018 TSSAA State Tournament.
