BETSY BOOK BUS
On the Road SUMMER 2018
The Betsy Book Bus is a mobile library that will deliver books to children and youth in neighborhoods and summer programs in Elizabethton. Children age birth through 18 may select a book from the bus to keep and add to their home libraries.
If your child would like to join in the excitement and board the bus for a new book this summer, please check out the tentative schedule and locations below and make plans to join us. Volunteers will also be available to sign children birth through age six up to receive a free monthly book through the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Carter County.
The program is made possible through the donation of books by Elizabethton families, the donation of the bus by Elizabethton City Schools, an Appalachian Regional Commission grant acquired by Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation, support from First Tennessee Development District, and generous community sponsors including Northeast Community Credit Union, Carter County Bank and others.
Tentative Schedule
The final Betsy Book Bus schedule including times and specific locations will be sent home with all children toward the end of the school year, and will also be available online at www.ecschools.net > Community > Betsy Book Bus and on the ECS Facebook and Twitter pages.
