Cyclone Connection Update:

Cyclone Connection is the registration portal used for new out of zone and tuition applicants only.

As a result of recent legislative action, our open enrollment process will be delayed this year. Beginning on Monday, May 1st, 2023 at 8:00 am, Cyclone Connection will be available on the school system website ( www.ecschools.net ) for parents to make their requests.  Please continue to check the website and our social media outlets for additional information.

Tuition students are those whose parents or guardians do not live within Elizabethton city limits, but who wish to attend Elizabethton City Schools as tuition-paying students. Reference Board Policy 6.204.

Out-of-Zone placement requests may be made by parents for students who are zoned for an Elizabethton elementary school but wish to attend a different Elizabethton elementary school. Click here to view the number if seats available for Elizabethton City Resident transfers.

The Cyclone Connection serves as both the tuition application and the application for out-of-zone placement. The application will open on May 1, 2023 at 8 am. The link to the application will be posted online on THIS WEBPAGE and on ECS Facebook and Twitter. Applications will be organized based on the priority order and based on the order in which they are received. If you do not have Internet access, you are welcome to use a computer at the Central Office or at the Public Library. The Cyclone Connection application is easy to complete on any device. You do not need special documentation like a SS number or birth certificate to apply.

Please note:

  • Applying in Cyclone Connection does not guarantee your child's placement.
    • EHS and TAD parents will be contacted in Spring by the Counseling Office to begin registration.
