EHS Swim Team 2021-2022

Coach Broussard is beginning her second year with the Cyclone Swimming family this year.  As a USS swimmer in Minnesota, she won the age group state championship at ages 14 and 16 and accomplished Zone 5 Top 12 in 1990.  As a high school senior, she was elected team captain, named All-Conference, placed Minnesota State Top 12, and was selected to the Minnesota All-State High School Swim Team.  While completing a Bachelor’s degree in psychology at Hawaii Pacific University she became the first member of the school’s women’s swim team where she swam for renowned national swim team coach Albert Minn and was awarded a scholarship in her second semester.  She earned NAIA All-American status each of the three years she competed for the University.  Upon graduating from the University, she coached alongside Coach Minn for the Aulea Swim Team in Kailua, HI, and continued to compete in many open water races.  Since becoming a registered US Master’s swimmer in 2002, she has achieved top 10 status thirty times.

Coach Broussard’s coaching philosophy: A proud team atmosphere and great foundational skills are crucial to individual and team success.

  • Assistant Coach:Robyn Roszel

Coach Roszel is new to the Cyclone family this year.  She was raised in Florida in a swimming household. Her father was a professional swim coach and Coach Roszel could quite possibly have been swimming before she could walk. She has been a competitive swimmer most of her life and was a multi-sport athlete in high school and beyond, setting multiple records in both swimming and in basketball. She has been involved at all levels of aquatics including lifeguarding, water aerobics instruction and swim lesson instruction for all ages. She has been an assistant and head swim coach for over 6 years, coaching all levels of club and high school swimming.  She has also worked as a personal trainer and uses that knowledge to emphasize a whole body approach to swimming. During her time as a coach she has had the honor and privilege of learning from some of the best professional swim coaches in the business, including Bob Bowman and Greg Troy (USA Olympic Coaches and Arizona State University and University of Florida, respectively).  Roszel’s philosophy is that proper stroke technique and a positive swimmer mindset are essential to an athlete’s success.  Coach Roszel’s two sons are competitive swimmers and she is excited to be a part of the Elizabethton High School swim program.
