Appalachian Highlands 20 Under 20 highlights students who have shown an affinity for science, math, engineering, and have leadership, community service, and entrepreneurial skills. Abbie Addington was selected by Counseling to represent EHS.
She made the cut for the first 20 and was then selected by Judges from NASA, various robotics fields, and professors in the science field.
STREAMWORKS, powered by Eastman in Education, will present the awards at an event later this month.
“Appalachian Highlands Twenty Under 20 is designed to bring recognition to the amazing student accomplishments and contributions around our region who excel at science, technology, robotics, engineering, arts and math,” said Dennis Courtney, executive director of STREAMWORKS.
“In a complicated world and a future where job opportunities are uncertain, it is our collective responsibility to ensure future generations’ success by providing them the opportunity and resources to pursue a STEM career. The annual Appalachian Highlands Twenty Under 20 highlights and celebrates our students’ initiatives, goals, and victories each and every year.”
