I graduated from East Tennessee State University Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in K-6 Education. Go Bucs! This is my sixth year at East Side Elementary and my fifth year in 5th grade. Prior to that, I worked for Elizabethton City Schools as an assistant in both the front office and Special Education. I am the proud momma of Airman Dustin Garland and ETSU Buc Victoria Garland. I also get the privelege to be stepmomma to Stephanie and Landon Pearson. My husband Wes and I call Elizabethton our home and we are both EHS alumni. Go Cyclones! I have two fur babies: Anny, a blue Weim and Puddles, a sweet little calico kitty. I love anything to do with the beach, photography, and coconut! I have lived most of my life in Elizabethton with the exception of the 7 months I spent in Iraq on active duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom. One of my favorite things to do is to spend Friday nights at the football stadium watching our Elizabethton Cyclone football team. I am proud to call Elizabethton my home and East Side my home away from home. It is my goal to not only teach my students, but to make a difference in their lives in one form or another. I love my job and look forward to seeing my sweet students each day!
