I graduated from Milligan College in May 2015. While at Milligan, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and completed courses for the Middle Grades (4th-8th grade) teaching license. At Milligan, I was distinguished with the Outstanding Student Award in Scientific Learning, Outstanding Student Award in Education, Mathematics Award, and Middle Grades Student Teaching Award. I also graduated at the top of my class.
This is my fifth year teaching 7th grade math at T.A. Dugger Jr. High. I love helping students learn math and discover its many applications to the real world. I strive to help students not see math as a scary or impossible task but as a subject that allows them to take what they know and use it to solve all kinds of problems. Math helps us engage our brains and think critically. As I teach, I also make it my goal to introduce students to a variety of careers that use math in some form or fashion so that they can see the possibilities that are out there. Can math be challenging? Yes. However, with hard work, patience, and perserverance, every student can succede in my math class!
