The T.A. Dugger girls’ and boys’ basketball teams know that conference tournament time is right around the corner and on Thursday evening both teams sent a loud message to the rest of the conference with resounding wins against Liberty Bell.
The ladies of Liberty Bell haven’t been touchable all season—that is until the Jr. Lady Cyclones executed a perfect game plan and took down the Lady Patriots by 17 points with a 48-31 win.
Lina Lyons was on fire from the outside torching the nets for five treys to lead TAD girls with a game-high 24 points almost matching the total output by Liberty Bell.
Mac Depew reached double figures in the contest with 10 points for the Jr. Lady Cyclones while Renna Lane fired in 7 points.
TAD also received 5 points from Maddie Fowler and Olivia Holly added 2 points.
What made the win more impressive was that the game was played on Liberty Bell’s home court.
Junior Varsity Girls
Liberty Bell managed to work a split in girls play as the Lady Patriots squeezed out a 10-point victory by a 32-22 score.
Reiley Whitson was stroking the basket to the tune of 4 treys in the first half of play for TAD and finished with 14 points in the contest.
Marlee Mathena contributed with 4 points while Abbie Crigger and Kayelyn Nave each pitched in with 2 points apiece.
It was Eighth Grade Night for the T.A. Dugger Jr. Cyclones and the team didn’t disappoint their fans as they took care of business by downing the Patriots of Liberty Bell 56-34.
A trio of Jr. Cyclones helped lead the way led by Nate Stephens who totaled 18 points in the contest and cleaned the glass for 8 rebounds.
Dalton Mitchell fell just short of hitting a triple-double as he blistered the cotton for 14 points while adding 7 assist and 7 steals.

Peyton Johnson played a huge contributing role on the night as he collected 7 points and 8 rebounds for TAD.
Bradley Cannon was the chairman of the boards as he reeled in 11 rebounds to go along with 4 points. Kandell Kandoje closed out the scoring adding 2 points.
Junior Varsity Boys
The TAD JV boys found the road a little bumpy as Liberty Bell managed to take the 34-24 win despite a solid game from Will Churchill who scored 10 points and recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds for the Jr. Cyclones.
Mason Ball also played a solid game as he would score 7 points on the night and total 8 rebounds.
Luke Whaley (4) and Jeriah Griffin (3 pts., 4 steals) closed out the scoring for the Jr. Cyclones. Even though he didn’t score a point in the game, Eli Blevins played a large contributing role by pulling down 10 rebounds in the contest as well for the Jr. Cyclones.
